ANDROME bridges Flash and SIP with its Intellivic Flash-to-SIP Gateway
The Intellivic Flash-to-SIP Gateway enables zero-install usage of video telephony features in Flash enabled web applications.
Diepenbeek (Belgium) - 27/05/2008. Today, the majority of computers across the globe are Adobe Flash enabled which has caused many new internet video applications to flourish, thanks to the non-exclusive nature of Flash for its end-users. The Intellivic Flash-to-SIP Gateway is building upon this reality to allow application developers to incorporate video telephony more freely into their Flash enabled web applications. Traditional web-based applications currently may have video telephony integrated into their core functionalities but still require a user to install video telephony software, be it as a plug-in. The new Intellivic Flash-to-SIP Gateway enables end-users to start using video telephony without installing anything specific on their pcs; thus placing video telephony more within reach of all.
"We're excited about our new Intellivic Flash-to-SIP Gateway, which fits well with our overall strategy to make video telephony as simple and accessible as possible to all,", says Raf Van Ham, CEO of ANDROME. "Users simply open a Flash enabled web application and dial a contact; which allows them to easily connect to their SIP contacts and directly send and receive live video and audio."
"The Intellivic Flash-to-SIP Gateway also bridges a gap between the traditional telecoms environment with SIP and IMS based networks and end-users who are using Flash enabled web applications," adds Raf Van Ham.
Applications that benefit from using the Intellivic Flash-to-SIP Gateway lie in the areas of professional consultancy services, call centers, remote medical assistance, home or office surveillance, e-learning and entertainment.

Diepenbeek (Belgium) - 25/03/2008. The Intellivic Softphone 4.1 recently has been brought on the market after an extensive period of beta pilot testing.

BT to trial Intellivic Smartphone.
BT is trialing the Intellivic Smartphone as part of a general fixed-mobile convergence strategy for business customers.
Diepenbeek, Belgium – 08/08/2007 – ANDROME NV, a leading provider of SIP based video telephony products and tools, announces that BT is trialing its Intellivic Smartphone on a dual smartphone, the HTC S620.
The BT trial is done using smartphones which offer VoIP; hence the project fits into a wider converged fixed-mobile communications strategy. The underlying client application for the VoIP video telephony is provided by ANDROME: in close cooperation with Alcatel-Lucent, its Intellivic Smartphone is tailored and tuned to fit the BT business requirements and needs.
The ANDROME Intellivic Smartphone is a SIP based VoIP softphone for dual smartphones devices running Windows Mobile. The Intellivic Smartphone is providing secure VoIP call facilities using integrated VPN technology. Calls can be conducted using both the mobile and WiFi networks. Seamless handover is taking place between both networks: as soon as the WiFi network is in range, calls are transferred from the mobile network to VoIP-over-WiFi calls. Vice versa, when a call started as a VoIP-over-WiFi call leaves the WiFi coverage, the call becomes a mobile call.
"Ensuring that BT has a secure, reliable and efficient SIP VoIP solution which is fully integrated with the mobile’s capabilities and switches in a cost effective manner between the WiFi and mobile network has made us face many challenges.”said Raf Van Ham, CEO of ANDROME. “We are proud however that our Intellivic Smartphone has been selected for this trial. Using smartphones, seamlessly switching between WiFi and mobile networks, can imply for bigger corporations andSMEs alike substantial optimizations of the costs for mobile communications and at the same time introduce new technologies to enhance business communications. We are confident this trial will result in a roll-out of the given solution later on."
